EXAMPLE:

-You were studying quietly, when Carly kissed you

PAST SIMPLE.

EXAMPLE:

- Did you eat meat? 

- No, I didn’t eat meat.
- I liked the fruits. 
- I listened to music.
- She ran every morning. 

PRESENT PERFECT.

EXAMPLE

-You have studied the lesson.

-He has broken the window.
